Materials & Quality

Quality You Can See in the Grid

Good welded wire mesh should be consistent from the first cut to the final fastener. SALMUT focuses on the details that make installation more predictable and finished projects look cleaner: uniform square openings, straight wires, consistent wire diameter, stable welded construction and dependable protective finishes.

Precision Welded Construction

The horizontal and vertical steel wires are joined at each intersection to create a rigid square-grid structure. Clean, flat welded intersections help the mesh remain workable while reducing unnecessary protrusions. Because every project is different, select the wire specification and mesh opening appropriate for the expected load and use.

Galvanized Finish

Galvanized hardware cloth provides a clean silver-gray appearance and practical corrosion resistance for outdoor applications. The protective zinc finish makes it a dependable choice for chicken coops, rabbit enclosures, garden barriers, raised beds, tree guards and general farm or DIY projects.

Black PVC Coated Finish

Black PVC coated hardware cloth combines a welded steel core with a smooth dark coating. The lower-visibility finish blends naturally into residential yards, gardens and animal enclosures while providing an additional protective layer over the wire. Avoid damaging the coating during cutting and fastening, and safely finish all exposed edges.

Consistent Square Openings

SALMUT mesh is designed around true square openings with straight horizontal and vertical wires. Consistent spacing supports cleaner alignment against wood frames and helps installers measure, cut and fasten the material more predictably.

Choosing the Right Product

Smaller openings are commonly selected when limiting access by small animals or pests is a priority. Larger openings may provide greater visibility and airflow for general enclosures. Roll width and length should be selected according to the finished dimensions of the project, allowing extra material for fastening, overlaps and buried edges where required.

Installation & Care

Use appropriate wire cutters, gloves and eye protection. Attach the mesh securely with fasteners suitable for the frame and environment. Remove sharp offcuts, finish exposed edges and inspect outdoor installations periodically. Product life depends on climate, installation, maintenance, chemical exposure and damage to the protective finish.
